This open, spreading, narrow-leafed Japanese maple produces a cloud-like effect with purple-red foliage that holds its color all summer. New spring growth is bright red with contrasting creamy veins, and fall color is striking orange-red. Canopy is wider than that of 'Atrolineare.' - WE NO LONGER GROW THIS VARIETY! At best it has unique stringy burgundy leaves, but due to severe dieback we have noticed over the past 2 years in Oregon and elsewhere, it is not a stable nor good variety for any climate. Please purchase instead 'Villa Taranto' or 'Beni yubi gohan'
