Description

A dwarf, blue-green weeping/mounding selection of eastern white pine with a naturally flowing, sculptural habit. This #45 container specimen stands about 4.5′ × 4.5′, offering instant presence with a compact footprint — easy to site beside stonework, near water features, or as a focal accent where graceful movement and soft color matter.

Botanically, eastern white pine bears soft, bluish-green needles in bundles of five, giving ‘Crooked Falls’ its distinctive, silky texture and year-round calm. The species’ fine needles and layered branch structure read as elegant rather than bulky — useful when you want conifer character without heaviness.

Left unstaked, ‘Crooked Falls’ settles into a broad, cascading mound; with a short stake while young, you can set the high point and then let the branches drape for a taller waterfall effect. This flexibility lets you match the silhouette to the space — mound it low for foreground drama or elevate it to clear a wall or boulder.

Plant in full sun to light shade in moist, well-drained, acidic soil. Keep moisture steady through establishment; avoid standing water and compacted, poorly drained sites. Eastern white pine is intolerant of road salt and many urban air pollutants, so give it clean air and set it back from salted pavement.
